How about Italian poets?
Giuseppe Ungaretti and Eugenio Montale
are perhaps the most famous Italian poets to have written about the Great War.
"Soldati" (Soldiers) by Ungaretti is one of my favourite poems:
Si sta come
d'autunno
sugli alberi
le foglie
